Houston Symphony Presents Cirque De La Symphonie, September 9–11

The Houston Symphony and Principal POPS conductor Steven Reineke return to the Jones Hall stage to open the 2022-23 Bank of America POPS Series with the thrilling and critically acclaimed circus troupe, Cirque de la Symphonie. From Friday, September 9 through Sunday, September 11, audiences will be blown away as the world’s greatest aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, balancers, and jugglers take the stage alongside and sometimes above the full Houston Symphony. With performances set to some of classical music’s most recognizable pieces—from “Can-Can” and “Bolero”, to music from Carmen, Swan Lake and many more fan favorites—this one-of-a-kind live concert event is sure to thrill the entire family.

Founded by William H. Allen in the 1990s in conjunction with former Houston Symphony POPS Conductor Michael Krajewski, Cirque de la Symphonie is a fascinating circus troupe consisting of world record holders, international competition gold-medal winners, Olympians, and some of the most experienced cirque talent ever seen, performing to live orchestral music. Since its first major performance at Jones Hall with the Houston Symphony in 2006, the whimsical troupe has gone on to collaborate with over 100 orchestras worldwide, with performances in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and throughout the United States.

On September 9-11, concert-goers can anticipate a cirque-themed cocktail of champagne and cotton candy, as well as entertainment from a professional juggler in the Jones Hall lobby. Tickets are available now via houstonsymphony.org/cirque.
