The Energy Corridor District welcomes popular Houston-area coffee shop and bakery, Common Bond, to the area and invites community to ribbon-cutting

The Energy Corridor District welcomes Common Bond’s seventh On-The-Go to the Energy Corridor with a community-wide ribbon-cutting event on Thursday.

Common Bond and the District will each give away a $100 gift card. Common Bond is also giving away one year of free Frozen Bonds, the coffee shop’s signature frozen coffee drink, to one lucky winner and the first 100 guests will also get a free chocolate chip cookie.

The ribbon-cutting begins at 8 a.m. July 7 at 1127 Eldridge Parkway.

“We are excited Common Bond is joining the District and providing another place for the community to gather,” The Energy Corridor District Executive Director Elijah J. Williams said.

Common Bond’s CEO George Joseph has said that opening an Energy Corridor location was a natural selection for the Houston-area chain that is seeking to serve coffee and snacks to people in their own neighborhoods.

The Energy Corridor location features new dishes, including a vegetarian meatball sandwich with Impossible meat and a prosciutto and arugula sandwich on sunflower rye.

“Common Bond represents growth and excitement, which is in concert with the environment we are generating in the Energy Corridor,” Williams said. “We strive to attract businesses to the District that offer a sense of community while providing everyone, from visitors to residents to employees, with quality amenities. Common Bond does all of this.”
