Served on area III Vo. Ag. Teachers Board of directors. Served as president.
One of founding members of the area III FFA Ag mechanics contest at Montgomery County Fair. It outgrew Montgomery County Fair and moved to what is now Ag Mechanics Contest at HLS&R.
On committee to start District II livestock judging contest.
The original Katy rodeo arena, announcers stand and bleachers that was built by the Young Farmers in the 50’s was replaced by the students, dads and area farmers while at Katy. Box seats were added. Paint was still wet for its first rodeo performance.
Started the first organized FFA Moms club to handle catalog ad sales, fruit sales, potted mums for the aged, and shut-ins at Christmas and concession stands.
Attended Walter Britten Auction Academy in 1978.
Farmed rice and raised commercial cattle in Katy and Robertson County most of my life.
Served on Brookshire Drying Company board of directors.
Served on Brookshire-Katy Drainage District Board of Supervisors. Served as President.
Fourth generation to have served on Katy ISD board of trustees
Served as Waller County Commissioner and County Judge
Served on H-GAC Board and committees.
Helped secure grant and build Waller County recycling center.
Helped create County Mobility Planning Commission.
Worked with county engineer, Port of Freeport, TxDOT, HGAC, county judges and commissioners in Brazoria and Ft. Bend counties to develop a master plan and association for Highway 36A.
Served on Gulf Coast Rail Authority Board.
Original committee member of Waller county Veterans Memorial to design, raise funds and construct a memorial on the courtyard.
Member of Friends for Wishes board of directors. Fundraising arm of the Make a Wish Foundation.
Served as auctioneer for local, county and state livestock shows 43 years. Selling kids animals now that I sold their parents animals when started.
Honorary member of several FFA chapters and the Texas FFA.
Helped raise millions of dollars for charitable organizations. (Churches, civic clubs, first responders, veterans, schools, make a wish etc)
Sold livestock and antiques in 14 states. Love the challenge of convincing a buyer to bid “one more time” and spend more than they planned to.
