The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Resiliency Hosts “Doc Talk” on Breaking Barriers to Youth Mental Healthcare

HOUSTON (May 16, 2022)–The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Resiliency, a nonprofit providing Houston-area women and girls with the tools needed to be advocates for their health, will present a hybrid “Doc Talk” presentation on “Breaking the Barriers to Youth Mental Healthcare” with Charlie Health’s Ann Matino, LCSW, and Director of Outreach Misti Pace-Krahl, on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from noon to 1:15 p.m., at the offices of alliantgroup, 3009 Post Oak Blvd, Ste. 2000, Houston. The presentation and lunch are open to the public at no cost.

Pace-Krahl graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a degree in psychology. Her entrepreneurial spirit drove her to create a successful educational series in Houston and San Antonio called The Mommie Series. Pace-Krahl’s love for education and mental health led her to Charlie Health. She is breaking barriers to access care with Charlie Health’s services and is on a mission to eradicate the mental health crisis. Pace-Krahl is also known for her philanthropic endeavors as she currently sits on the board of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, the Pediatric Advisory Board for The Woman’s Hospital, member of the River Oaks Woman’s Breakfast Club 2015-2018 and member of the Lady Washington Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. 

 

Matino has worked in the behavioral health field for more than 30 years. Her career experiences include positions as Clinical Director and Executive Director in psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment facilities, and intensive outpatient environments. She is passionate about providing excellent clinical care through supporting and training staff, creating efficient and effective systems, and utilizing evidence-based compassionate treatment of clients and their families. 

 

 

 

 

Doc Talk, The Women’s Fund women’s outreach education program, is a hybrid series of conversations with medical professionals on cutting-edge and trending health topics. Moderated by Casey Curry, Doc Talk is funded in part by The John P. McGovern Foundation and sponsored by alliantgroup. Guests will have the option to join virtually or in person at alliantgroup’s office, located at 3009 Post Oak Blvd, Ste. 2000, Houston, 77056. 

For 43 years, The Women’s Fund has educated girls and women in the Houston area through classes, workshops, lectures, and publications that teach resiliency skills and relate those skills to current and future health risks. Dedicated to ensuring positive health outcomes for individuals and communities, The Women’s Fund serves close to 12,000 women and adolescent girls and distributes over 9,000 publications each year at no cost.
