YMCA of Greater Houston Welcomes Applications for over 700 Seasonal and Permanent Positions across Greater Houston

Organization prepares for a fun-filled summer with exciting job opportunities at all YMCA locations

The YMCA of Greater Houston is excited to welcome new and returning seasonal and part-time employees to the YMCA family. The organization is looking to fill over 700 positions this summer across all locations in the Greater Houston area.

To ensure a safe, fun summer for all, the YMCA is in search of lifeguards, swim instructors, day camp counselors, resident camp counselors and more. In addition to competitive compensation, all part-time employees benefit from flexible work schedules, free YMCA memberships and ample opportunity to develop as an individual and leader in the community.

The organization also seeks qualified candidates for positions within other Y areas, including YMCA International Services and the Healthy Living department. From bilingual case managers to support Houston’s refugee and immigrant communities to dance instructors for youth and adults, the YMCA provides a diverse set of opportunities for job seekers who are looking to make a difference in the community.

“We are so grateful to our YMCA family and look forward to expanding our talented and dedicated team to join the Y movement,” says Jennifer Lopez, Chief Human Resources Officer, YMCA of Greater Houston. “Each position is essential in providing structured and quality programming within our organization while also inspiring change. Working at the Y is more than a job. It gives you the opportunity to strengthen communities and change lives, empower youth, improve health and well-being, inspire action in your community, work with diverse leaders and find your purpose.”

YMCA of Greater Houston is committed to the professional growth and development of staff. This includes on-the-job trainings, certifications, immediate access to tools, resources, subject matter experts, volunteer opportunities and more. The Y also provides Employee Resource Networks, which provide a space for people to network, mentor one another, participate in personal and professional development and more—all while building meaningful connections.

YMCA of Greater Houston offers competitive pay for part-time and full-time staff. Last year the YMCA of Greater Houston announced an increase in pay for all frontline full-time associates and part-time employees. This adjustment in entry level pay was the Y’s the first step in addressing equity within the organization and providing more livable wages for the Y’s frontline workers who had been instrumental throughout the pandemic.
