Waterpark Management Company Pyek Group Leases Space in Katy for New HQ

Pyek Group, which manages waterpark destinations attracting upwards of one million visitors each year, has leased 4,000 square feet at 24620 Kingsland Blvd. in Katy for the opening of its corporate headquarters.

The company’s portfolio of family entertainment venues includes the Typhoon Texas waterparks in Houston and Austin; Cowabunga Bay in Henderson, Nevada; and Cowabunga Canyon, formerly Wet ‘n’ Wild Las Vegas, touted as the largest waterpark in Las Vegas.

“Katy is where we started with Typhoon Texas so it just made sense to locate our new headquarters here,” says Evan Barnett, president of Pyek Group.

Since opening Typhoon Texas in Houston back in 2016, the waterpark has consistently ranked among the top-20 most attended in North America. The parks also have earned World Waterpark Association awards for safety, leadership and its innovative approach to employee training and recognition.

The four properties combine to employ close to 2,000 full and part-time seasonal workers while generating considerable economic benefits for each of their surrounding areas, adds Barnett, a 26-year veteran of the waterpark industry.

“Pyek Group gives us the opportunity to bring a higher level of synergy and operational efficiencies to all four waterparks,” he says.

Joining Barnett at Pyek Group are John Pham, Director of Marketing & Guest Experience; Brannan Holland, Solutions Architect; Walter Teem, Director of Revenue; Vineeta Juthani, Controller; Chisholm Tate, Director of Human Resources; and Jocelyn Richardson, Corporate Administrator.

In addition to managing its current portfolio, Barnett says Pyek Group will keep a close eye on management opportunities at other U.S. waterparks.
