NAMC Celebrates 10 Years in Houston, Will Host Its 9th Annual Gala and Awards Night on March 5

The Nigerian-American Multicultural Council (NAMC) will host its 9th Annual Gala and Awards Night on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 6:00 PM at The Westin Houston, Memorial City 945 Gessner Rd, Houston, Texas 77024. The Gala highlights NAMC’s decade of impact with a celebration of live entertainment, networking, authentic African cuisine, keynote remarks and notable guests. 200+ attendees will gather to reflect on NAMC’s progress and its vision for the upcoming year in an upscale environment. NAMC is a Houston based non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and is proud to celebrate 10 years if impact to strengthen the contribution of Nigerian-Americans in society.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception where guests will have a chance to mingle, take pictures on the red carpet, and interact with other invited guests. The cocktail reception will be followed by dinner, with inspiring speeches by exceptional Nigerian leaders in industry and business. The theme of the evening is Against the Odds, which encourages attendees to exhibit Nigerian excellence in all that they do, no matter the odds. The event will be hosted by Banke Awopetu (Banke the Author), an author, comedian, and performer. Attendees are also in for a treat as Simi, Nigerian The evening will end with sounds by DJ MixMasterBrown.

Founded in 2011, NAMC is also celebrating its 10+ year anniversary: 10 Years Strong! NAMC focuses on four core areas: professional development, mentorship, cultural enrichment, and civic engagement. NAMC hosts events through the year including Houston AfriFEST, which shares a multitude of cultures within Africa with thousands in the Houston community, and Career Discovery for High School Students, which exposes students to a wide range of careers.
