HBA Welcoming Veterans, Active Military to First Legal Clinic of 2022

The Houston Bar Association’s Military and Veterans Committee, Houston Young Lawyers Association (HYLA), and Veterans Legal Initiative (VLI) are co-hosting a military and veterans legal clinic at Lone Star Flight Museum on Friday, February 11 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Lone Star Flight Museum.

Organizers welcome Houston area veterans, active military, spouses and surviving spouses who are seeking free legal advice. Volunteer attorneys will provide one-on-one legal advice on issues including veterans’ disability benefits, discharge upgrades, family law, wills and probate, consumer issues, landlord/tenant law, worker’s compensation, tax issues, and bankruptcy. Veterans who need further legal representation and who qualify for legal assistance through Houston Volunteer Lawyers may be assigned to a pro bono attorney to assist them.
