Supply Chain Disrupted

The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce’s Infrastructure Planning Division will host an informative event titled “Supply Chain Disrupted” on Thursday, February 3rd from 7:30 – 9:00 AM with University of Houston’s Margaret A. Kidd. Ms. Kidd will discuss current statistics and impact, preparing for “just in time” or “just in case”, lessons from COVID-19, how to limit vulnerabilities, and are there economic development opportunities? This event is generously sponsored by Glenn Smith Executive Coaching. This session will be moderated by Trisha Frederick, FBCC Infrastructure Planning Division Chair, Costello, Inc.

Margaret A. Kidd joined University of Houston College of Technology in fall of 2016 as an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain & Logistics. Currently, she serves on the University of Houston Faculty Senate, Undergraduate Committee and serves as faculty advisor to the Supply Chain and Industrial Distribution Organization. In August of 2018, she was promoted to Program Director for the Supply Chain & Logistics Technology Program and assumed leadership of the graduate program in January of 2020. Prior to joining the University of Houston, Margaret served as the Project Director of TAACCT LINCS Grant at San Jacinto College where she was charged with participating with the LINCS Consortium and the US Department of Labour Grant in development and implementing a nationally recognizable series of eight stackable and latticed credentials that provided workers with skills for entry and middle level supply chain management. She serves as liaison for the Exporters Maritime Council, KBR-Government Solutions and is on the East End Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board.  Ms. Kidd has a BBA in General Business, MA in Cross-Cultural Studies and has over 60 doctoral hours in Urban Planning & Environmental Policy with an emphasis on port city interface, sustainability, and economic development. In August of 2017, Houston Woman’s Magazine Annual Nominate HER Awards, recognized Margaret and she was awarded the “Savvy Sister Award” for making a significant career change and innovative change to her workplace, related to workforce development.
