Coats to be distributed through the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program at Mamie George Community Center on Monday, December 20
Sixty low-income children who are being raised by their grandparents will receive warm coats to ward off the winter chill, thanks to Knights of Columbus Council 7382 from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Sugar Land. The coats will be distributed during a Christmas party for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, a program at Catholic Charities’ Mamie George Community Center. The program helps grandparents who contend with financial challenges in caring for their grandchildren while living on a fixed income.
