U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) this week joined Fox News’ ‘The Ingraham Angle’ and OutKick’s ‘Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show’ to talk about the Mississippi abortion case before the Supreme Court, Dr. Fauci’s hypocrisy, the Women’s Tennis Association’s (WTA) response to China, and President Biden’s unlawful COVID vaccine mandates. On the Mississippi abortion law before the Supreme Court, Sen. Cruz said:
“Unfortunately, the left when it comes to abortion has gotten more and more radical. And you see that from the questioning of Justice Sotomayor, where she is suggesting that to protect a life is somehow taking a religious view. For most of human history, life has been protected, and if you look at where the Court really started to go wrong, the 1973 decision of Roe vs. Wade started the Supreme Court down this very dangerous road of being deeply, deeply politicized.”

“Now, I am hopeful and I think there’s some reason to be optimistic that the result of today’s [yesterday’s] argument will be the Court finally admitting that was a mistake, overruling Roe, which is the right thing to do, it’s what I’ve urged the Court to do, and returning that decision to the state legislatures.”

“Today’s Democratic Party, the position of virtually every Democrat in Congress, is they support unlimited abortion on demand up until the moment of birth, they support partial-birth abortion with government funding, with no parental notification, no parental consent. That is a radical and extreme position supported by fewer than 10 percent of Americans, and it’s the position of Joe Biden, of Kamala Harris, of Chuck Schumer, of Nancy Pelosi.” (Sen. On Dr. Fauci’s hypocrisy, Sen. Cruz said:
“The hypocrisy from Anthony Fauci seems to know no limits. The damage he has done—in a time of a medical crisis, we would like the leadership at our health agencies to actually be based on science, to be based on medicine. Fauci has demonstrated that he is just a Democratic talking head. He will go with the politics, and he will change on the flip of a dime.
“You look at his answer where he says, ‘Well, gosh, two million illegal immigrants coming across, not testing them, releasing them COVID positive, that’s no risk whatsoever.’ On the other hand, when the teachers’ unions ask the Biden administration to require kids to wear masks in schools, giving it of the teachers’ unions because they are political allies of the Democrats, that is science too.
“There is a level of just dishonesty that I think has done real damage to the credibility of the CDC and of the NIH. And I’ve got to say, Dr. Fauci in particular, there are very serious questions about whether he committed a felony in lying to Congress where he stated categorically that the NIH had not funded gain-of-function research at Wuhan.” (Sen. On President Biden’s COVID vaccine mandates, Sen. Cruz said:
“These mandates are illegal, they’re unconstitutional, and they’re an abuse of power. The Biden White House has issued four different vaccine mandates. One is directed at active duty military, soldiers and sailors and airmen and Marines. One is directed at federal civilian employees. One is directed at federal contractors, anyone that does business with the federal government. Then finally, one is directed at private employers that have 100 or more employees. That’s the one that is done through OSHA. All of them are illegal.”

“The Biden administration has faced lawsuits all over the country challenging those mandates. As you noted, federal court after a federal court has enjoined the mandates has said these are contrary to law. Now, it’s in the early stages of litigation, so there will be the injunctions were issued, because the courts determined that there was a likelihood of success on the merits by the plaintiffs. Now, that doesn’t mean they’ve won, it means they made an early determination that they’ve made a serious showing of a violation of law. What is amazing is, number one, I believe Joe Biden and the Biden White House knew full well these orders were illegal when they issued them. I think the White House lawyers and the Department of Justice lawyers told them these are illegal. I think they cynically issued them anyway, because they assumed that a great many people would obey them, and it would take time for the courts to strike them down.”

“That is utterly lawless. This crisis has revealed petty authoritarians who are willing to trample on your individual freedom when it comes to vaccines. I support vaccines. On the WTA calling out China over Peng Shuai’s disappearance, Sen. Cruz said:
“Peng Shuai has demonstrated enormous courage. She publicly accused a senior Chinese communist official of sexually assaulting her. Within about 30 minutes, they took down that post and they’ve essentially ‘disappeared’ her. She was the number one ranked women’s doubles player in the world. The only Chinese nationally ranked number one in the world and they’ve just ‘disappeared’ her. The Women’s Tennis Association has shown extraordinary courage calling out the Chinese Communist government, demanding that the Peng Shuai be released and that she’d be freed, and they put their money where their mouth is. This week the Women’s Tennis Association canceled their events in China, giving up millions or even hundreds of millions of dollars by doing so, and I’ve got to say it is a stark contrast to the NBA.” (Sen.
