Volunteers and Toy Donations Needed this Holiday Season
Houston Children’s Charity, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life for Greater Houston’s underprivileged, abused, and disabled children, will again be distributing 80,000 toys to 20,000 children through its Adopt-A-Family and Toy Distribution program this holiday season.
The Adopt-A-Family Program allows groups and individuals from around the greater Houston area the opportunity to make a less fortunate family’s holiday brighter by putting their own personal touch on Christmas with a dedicated donation to a family. Each year, 500 families are sponsored through the Adopt-A-Family Program. Sponsorships are now closed and interested donors can visit houstonchildrenscharity.org/programs/christmas-program/adopt-family/ for more ways to get involved.
Since 2008, Houston Children’s Charity and U.S. Marines Toys for Tots have collected donations from official drop-off sites citywide and created holiday miracles for Houston families. The organization will be collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys at the George R. Brown Convention Center at 1001 Avenida De Las Americans in Downtown Houston in Hall D from December 18-20, 2021. The opening of Houston Children’s Charity’s two-day Annual Toy Distribution in partnership with the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots at the George R. Brown Convention Center will be on December 22, 2021 for families who have applied for the assistance program.
This year, Houston Children’s Charity is inviting everyone to help make the holiday season special for children who would otherwise not receive any gifts by donating toys or making a monetary donation.
