The global blockchain technology market is unstoppable: estimated at a modest $1 billion in 2017, it is now valued at about $7 billion and is expected to grow to at least $50 billion by 2025. From the launch of Bitcoin in 2009 to myriads of altcoins, non-fungible assets, and ETFs, blockchain is so diverse that it’s almost impossible to grasp it all, even for tech enthusiasts.

Luckily, though, there are relatively simple and quite tangible applications of blockchain in both gaming and gambling, allowing hundreds of millions of players to enjoy the best the tech can offer without digging deep into the intricacies of it.

Speaking of the real usage of blockchain in gambling and gaming, the most vivid examples are Provably Fair casinos and blockchain-based games with numerous in-game opportunities. Both are pretty popular in Poland, and both are worth elaborating on, which we are about to do in the lines below.

Before we start, though, we’d like to thank Aleksandra Maj from KasynoHEX for providing valuable insights into the blockchain tech in gambling and helping us put it all together.

Blockchain and Gaming in Poland

To better understand how blockchain can impact both gaming and gambling – and many other industries for that matter – it would be worth mentioning how it operates in the first place. In a nutshell, any blockchain is a distributed public ledger that stores information about every action of every participant of the network, which

  1. Gives anyone access to the entire history of transactions, making it trustless and verifiable.
  2. Eliminates a single point of failure, making it decentralized and equally dependent on each user.

Given the opportunities of the tech, it’s no wonder the ever-growing Polish gaming scene adopted it fast. With over 16 million gamers in the Land of Fields and over 440 studios, there is a huge demand for

  • Learning and creating games on blockchain. Open-source blockchain games unlock countless possibilities for young talents. Not only can aspiring developers create blockchain-based games on their own, but they can also use publicly available code for that. In other words, they can build on top of what was built before them, beautifying the game or creating a separate version of it.
  • Community-driven game development. In blockchain-based games, node owners can openly communicate with developers and decide what features they would like to see in the next update, funding the necessary changes.
  • Storing and trading in-game assets. In a centralized environment, all your assets belong to the company; in decentralized games, you can store in-game assets on a blockchain, being the true owner of your items. Also, you can buy, sell, and trade your in-game assets with other players.

It goes without saying, though,  that the tech is brand-new and not well-honed yet. Centralized businesses are still on top and refuse to give up, but the trend is clear all the same.

Blockchain and Gambling in Poland

Until recently, a player couldn’t verify the fairness of his casino – one had to rely on independent testing agencies (for example, eCOGRA) and/or the overall reputation of the site. But that’s no longer the case: blockchain has changed the online gambling industry once and for all by enabling Provably Fair casinos, the ones allowing players to verify all outcomes of their games at the end of the session.

Here’s how it works:

  1. A Provably Fair casino generates a unique Server Seed, and the player generates a unique User Seed.
  2. The Server Seed and the User Seed are combined into a Seed Pair, which is used to generate truly random outcomes for all player’s games.
  3. At the end of the session – or once the player decides to change his User Seed – the player is given access to the previously used Server Seed, by which he can verify the fairness of his games.

The centralized nature of gambling in Poland (only domestic casinos approved by the Minister of Finance are allowed to operate, but punters are free to choose between domestic and international online casinos) and a huge demand for reliable international casinos like this one https://polskiekasynohex.com/kasyna-online/najlepiej-wyplacalne/ made blockchain-based online sites a unique opportunity for millions of Poles. Not only are these sites a safe haven for Polish gamblers, but they are also verifiably fair and with lots of high-RPT games and bonuses.

Last but not least, make sure to control your mental state when gambling, as both online and offline gambling can be addictive. In case you or your close ones need help, immediately ask for it at international – BeGambleAware, Gamblers Anonymous, GamCare, etc. – or your local problem gambling organizations.
