#GivingTuesdayKaty Cooks Up Chili, a Family-Fun Community Festival, and Events at Katy Area Restaurants to Benefit Seven Nonprofit Organizations

It’s #GivingTuesdayKaty time in Katy! We officially launch a month-long schedule of events this week including a Chili Cookoff and Family-fun Community Festival on Saturday, Nov. 6, to benefit seven participating nonprofit organizations.

The #GivingTuesdayKaty Chili Cookoff and Festival is open to the public at Westlake Volunteer Fire Department facilities at 19636 Saums Road on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 11:30 am to 1:30 p.m. The event will feature a chili cookoff between participating nonprofit organizations, a proclamation from the City of Katy, Santa Claus visits, photograph stops, festival-style games, fire station demonstrations and tours, a DJ, and fitness and family-fun activities and treats.

Nonprofit organizations will be collecting new toys, gift cards, toiletries, cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper and financial donations to benefit their programs for people living in the Katy community. Families who attend the event can donate to taste and vote for the chili of their choice, receive beverages and dessert treats provided by event sponsors.

Benefitting nonprofit organizations are Abigail’s Place, The Arc of Katy, Joe Joe Bear Foundation, Katy Responds, Stuff the Sleigh, upLIFTed Movement, and Katy Area YMCAs.
