LOCATION: Beckendorff Farms, 28533 Morton Road, Katy, Texas

DAY & DATE: Friday, Dec. 3, 2021

TIME: 6 to 11 p.m.

The Arc of Katy Board of Directors invites members of the community to participate in the organization’s Taste of the Holidays 2021 Gala, from 6 to 11 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3 at Beckendorff Farms, 28533 Morton Road in Katy.

The Arc of Katy Board of Directors is planning a wonderful evening of dining and holiday themed entertainment to raise funds that will help maintain programs that empower and enrich the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families, said Cherie Duddridge, President of The Arc of Katy Board of Directors.

“Our community is strong, courageous, and resilient, and we recognize that the events of the past 16 months have presented a unique set of challenges for the Katy community and our organization as we have all dealt with the pandemic,” Duddridge said. “We are very grateful now to be in the position to invite our community back for our annual gala.”

The Arc of Katy 2021 gala planning committee is led by co-chairs Fran Dahl, Duddridge, and Krista Kiblawi, who are working in tandem with event coordinator Joni Barker of Joni B’s Events to ensure the evening is a stellar experience.

“Guests will escape into an evening complete with scrumptious cuisine, holiday inspired beverages, and festive entertainment,” Dahl said. “They will be able to support The Arc of Katy by bidding on specially-curated auction items, playing the odds in our holiday raffle or trying their luck in our holiday wine pull. In addition, some of The Arc of Katy participants will have a few surprises in store for guests that will culminate in making this a perfect way to kick-off your holiday season.”

The Arc of Katy also is honored to have several esteemed Katy and Houston area guests who are a testament to our mission, including Roderick Batson and Trae Tha Truth, partners in Katy’s Howdy Homemade Ice Cream, according to Dahl. Howdy Homemade is on a relentless pursuit to provide employment for individuals with special needs and give back to the community.

Glenn Beckendorff will serve as the event’s auctioneer. Beckendorff, retired Waller County Judge, has had a deep positive impact on the Katy community and has supported The Arc of Katy for over a decade, Dahl said.
