Annual ArBOOretum Family Fall Festival to be held on Saturday, Oct. 23
Grab the costumes, and round up the kids for the Houston Arboretum’s biggest family event of the year, ArBOOretum, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and featuring fun activities for all ages. Among these are a petting zoo, pony rides, pumpkin decorating and Houston’s only Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail.
Little ghouls and goblins should plan to be at the Arboretum for this Family Fall Festival to play, learn and enjoy an engaging day of activities. At ArBOOretum, the Trick-or-Treat Nature Trail will lead kids on an adventure of discovery where they will learn about creatures that live at the Arboretum, while collecting candy along the way. Other favorite ArBOOretum activities throughout the day include:
- Train Rides
- Pumpkin Decorating
- Petting Zoo and Pony Rides
- Halloween Market
- Pumpkin Patch
- Rock Wall
Food trucks will also be on hand to keep guests well-fed and hydrated.
“ArBOOretum is hands down the most popular family event every year at the Houston Arboretum,” says Debbie Markey, Executive Director. “Now that our Master Plan is complete, guests can enjoy our beautifully restored nature trails, field stations, Nature Playscape and flora and fauna, in addition to all the ArBOOretum activities. We also encourage people to become ArBOOretum sponsors to help support our mission of conservation and education.”

TICKETS: Free for members and children under 3
$15 for non-members with online purchase by Oct. 23; $20 day of event (ages 3 and up) Tickets can be purchased in advance online on our website at houstonarboretum.org. Consider becoming an Arboretum member to take advantage of outstanding programming and discounts on many events.

PARKING: The Arboretum grounds will be closed to parking for ArBOOretum. Offsite parking at 1001 W Loop S Fwy will be available the day of the event. Ride sharing is also encouraged. Please check our website before the event for parking details.
Comfortable walking shoes and costumes are encouraged. No pets are allowed during ArBOOretum; the event is rain or shine. All funds raised support nature conservation and educational programming for the Houston Arboretum.
