Northwest Assistance Ministries Food Fair Provided Food for 600 Families

The Northwest Assistance Ministries Food Fair provided food for 600 families within our community on September 3, 2021. With a team comprised of NAM’s full staff and over 20 volunteers, NAM placed boxes of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other necessities to more than 50 pounds for each client that participated in the drive-thru giveaway.

The food giveaway was made possible through our partnership with the Common Market and Houston Food Bank, generously supplying enough food and resources to assist meeting basic human needs through “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.” Clients were directed to make three total stops while in line, receiving handouts detailing NAM’s various programs and services, assisting the community with Food, Rental and Utility, Pediatric Health, Veterans Assistance, and more. Once the clients were prompted to open their car trunks, multiple boxes of colorful, fresh fruits and vegetables were accompanied by gallons of milk, packs of chicken, and shelf-stable groceries.

Thank you to each individual that assisted in providing the much-needed resources to the community through the Food Fair!
