Fort Bend County Launches New Web Address and Mobile App

By George Slaughter

Fort Bend County has a new website address and a mobile app, both of which are designed to improve public access to the county government.

The new website is http://www.fbctx.gov. The mobile app is “myFBC” and can be downloaded from the Apple Store and the Google Play Store.

The http://www.fortbendcountytx.gov website address remains the active home of the county website. However, the shortened FBCTX.gov address is a streamlined improvement intended to better serve both county residents and employees with an easier, more effective way of communication with others.

In a nod to the growing diversity of the county, the app can be translated into over 100 languages.

The mobile app enables access to county services and resources, voting information, and jury and court information. It also enables people to pay their county property taxes, receive active emergency notifications, and access chat features that enables direct chats with various departments.

“This has been a priority for my administration since I took office in January of 2019,” Fort Bend County Judge K.P. George said in a statement. “It is an honor to finally see the vision become the reality because of the hard work and dedication of our information technology staff.”

The county network sits behind a secure firewall, and no public information will be shared through the app, the county said.
