Fort Bend County Fair Farmers’ Market Debuts

It’s a ripe occasion with a new Farmers’ Market debuting this June thanks to the Fort Bend County Fair Association. Local growers will be offering up fresh fruits and vegetables, plants, and canned goods. Vendors will be set up in the front parking lot of the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds from 8:00 AM to Noon on Saturdays beginning June 12, 19, and 26.

The Fort Bend County Fair is once again supporting the community by hosting the market. From full farming/ranching operations to mom-and-pop gardeners, Fort Bend County is enriched with talented cultivators. “We are proud to support local, offer up a new way to give back to our community and county, and all while supporting agriculture. It is a natural step for us,” said Fort Bend County Fair President, Brian Graeber.

The Farmers’ Market will be set up in the spacious, paved front parking lot area near the front entrance of the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds. Rain or sunshine, there will be plenty of room for vendors and shoppers. Vendors’ 10 x 10 spaces are still available for a $25.00 fee. Life members of the fair who would like to be a vendor are eligible for a 20% discount. Vendors must bring their own canopies, tables, chairs, and display for their produce and goods.

Fair Manager, Cindy Schmidt, will serve as the Farmers’ Market manager and oversee the event, and the collaboration of local growers.  For more information, contact the fair office at 281-342-6171.
