Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston to hold in-person job fair on May 6 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston presents an in-person job fair on May 6 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at its administrative headquarters, located at 815 Crosby St. off of Allen Parkway near downtown. The event will provide information about openings for full- and part-time positions with 23 clubs in a five-county area, including summer jobs.

Job seekers will be able to access “on the spot” interviews with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston human resources staff members and learn specifics about the jobs and the organization. Those applying are asked to wear face masks while in the building.

Clubs will be hiring for staff positions that include Club Directors, Lead Youth Development Specialists, Membership Coordinator, Youth Development Staff, Bilingual Outreach Specialist, drivers and more. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston provides attractive benefits packages to its employees, including dental and vison health coverage, paid time off, paid holidays and 401K retirement plans.

“We are looking for talented and motivated youth development staff for both year-round and summer positions to provide essential services for youth ages six through 17,” says Kevin Hattery, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. “The job fair will highlight the jobs available and how you can become part of a dynamic nonprofit that shapes the futures of young people in the greater Houston area.”

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston encourages community members to register now for full-day, in-person summer programming, which provides children and teens with dynamic and enriching activities, including STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts Math) and robotics camps, arts and crafts, green-thumb gardening, book clubs, sports and wellness and more. Academic programming is aligned with statewide TEKS standards and helps to mitigate “pandemic learning loss” and keep skills sharp over the summer.

Although guidelines regarding Covid-19 have loosened due to vaccine availability, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston will continue to follow best practices at all Clubs regarding health and safety for members and staff. These include mandatory face coverings, socially distanced learning and reduced youth capacity in each Club. As always, providing a safe and nurturing environment for members is a top priority for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.

A full summer membership is only $25 per youth. Clubs are open daily, Monday through Friday, and include a snack and lunch. Times vary by Club. Registration is available at https://www.bgcghprograms.com/.
