Fort Bend County Precinct 4 Community Spotlight

On Friday April 23, 2021, Fort Bend County Commissioner Ken R. DeMerchant virtually hosted the “DeMerchant Spotlight” Quarterly Award ceremony. DeMerchant presented the Spotlight Award recipients a proclamation in honor of their services to Fort Bend County. The quarterly event honorees included Christine Nguyen of The Sweet Boutique, Sugar Land, The Carter Brothers, Dr. Sterling Carter and Stephen Carter, and Khloe Joiner; “A Book and a Smile.”

The “DeMerchant Spotlight Award” is awarded to those who dedicate their time, talents, actions, and knowledge to serving the diverse communities in Fort Bend County, Precinct 4.

“There are many unsung heroes in our community that go unnoticed and the Spotlight is only a small way of showing our appreciation for the impact they make,” stated DeMerchant.

During the event Commissioner DeMerchant also recognized the 2020 DeMerchant Spotlight honorees, Wayne Chandler, Natalie Bostic, Karen Jennings, Dexter McCoy, Vickie Coates, Glenda Macal, Zona Johnson, Irma, Francesca, and Sasha Klink, Gilberto Rodriguez, Nasruddin Rupani, and Cliff Parker.
