Grilling Do’s and Don’ts According to the Experts

There is nothing more mouthwatering than the smell of a piece of meat or chicken being grilled on a spring day. BBQing gives your days a special sense of relaxation and laziness, plus the promise of a delicious homemade meal where family and friends gather and offer a helping hand.

Although grilling sounds easy and straightforward, there are many mistakes that can be made without much thought and could lead to bad results that will ruin your meal completely.

Here are some tips to help you ensure that you will enjoy the meal you crave and deserve.

  1. First Things First, Meat Types

Before concerning yourself with the type of grill, you will use or the grilling duration, pick the right type of meat first. Lean meat will dry very quickly and will be hard to chew. Investing time in choosing which part of the animal you will use for grilling will prove worthy when you finish preparing your meal, and it is time to see and eat the delicious results.

  1. Prepare Ahead

Best cooks are not the best because they know all the recipes inside out. They prepare ahead of cooking time to save as much effort as possible. Start by marinating your meat and chicken if the recipe calls for that. Also, if you are in the process of preparing Kebabs, you can soak your wood skewers in water for over an hour, drain them well, and freeze them to be ready for use whenever you need them.

  1. Spice Things Up!

There are many recipes that you have not yet tried, and you definitely should. People tend to be comfortable with the things you have tried many times and loved, but change is good, and sometimes it leads to discovering new favorites. Folks at TheOnlineGrill.com have many recipes for you to choose from according to your taste or the mood and atmosphere you are attempting to create. It’s always a good idea to expand your collection of recipes to keep the gatherings exciting.

  1. Don’t Over Do It, Though!

Although seasoning your meat and chicken is a must, over-seasoning is a mistake that people might fall into. When you prepare your seasoning, rub it gently on the meat. Over rubbing it, thinking this might help the flavors get inside, will cause the tissue of the meat to tear up and the meat to be over seasoned and will not taste nearly as good as you want it to be.

  1. Do Not Forget to Check The Heat

Pre-heating your grill before your start is an important step you don’t want to miss. For 10 to 15 minutes before you add the meat or veggies set your temperature to 500F and close the lid of your grill. This step will help prevent your food from sticking and make it easier for you to flip it over from side to side. Closing the lid helps keep that smokey smell and gives your food a distinct grilling scent. Monitor the heat of the grill during the cooking process. It is important to have a meat thermometer to ensure you have got this part under control. A thermometer will also help you to know when your food is ready to be served.

  1. Clean Your Equipment

One of the mistakes people often make when grilling is that they don’t clean the grill after they finish cooking or between seasons. Cleaning grills is a process every grill owner should learn to protect their grill and make sure the food does not stick or catch older or rusty flavors. Cleaning will also help you get those beautiful grill marks that people love to see on every meal they grill. It is basically why most people grill, right?

Grilling is a hobby, an art, and a skill. It takes practice to know how to grill your meat perfectly and how to use your equipment in all the right ways. Moreover, it is really worth it. Handing plates full of delicious glazed meat to loved ones and waiting and receiving their compliments or constructive feedback is totally worth the hours of preparation. As with everything else, practice makes perfect. If your plan is to make grilling parties a norm at your house, after the pandemic days are over, of course, then you should practice as often as you can and educate yourself to get better results every time you grill. Summer days are endless, and winter days are cozy, so make them especially memorable with your family and friends, not forgetting covid rules while satisfying your meat cravings with your grilling expertise.
