The good news is more and more people are getting vaccinated in Harris County, but it’s still not enough to stem the tide of COVID-19 infections. Until cases decrease, if you or your children aren’t vaccinated, getting tested is your best defense. Knowing if you are infected allows you to protect yourself and others. If you do have COVID-19, you can quarantine so you don’t spread the virus. To make sure you don’t get seriously ill, your local health department will call you daily for two weeks to ask about your symptoms.
Children can be tested at any of the HCPH sites listed below. Testing is free, easy to sign up for and quick at Harris County Public Health sites. You get your results in 3-5 days. Find a site near you and sign up for free testing at hcphtx.org or call 832-927-7575.
