Dr. Gildardo Andres Ceballos
Because 2020 made gatherings difficult, the presentation of the 2020 Physician of the Year was made at the Physician Appreciation Breakfast, held at OakBend Medical Center on April 1, 2021.
Dr. Gildardo Andres Ceballos was named OakBend Medical Center’s 2020 Physician of the Year.
The hospital received several nominations for the Physician of the Year award, and Dr. Ceballos was praised for his support of the OakBend Medical Center and the OakBend Medical Group and its staff and for being someone who is dedicated to his patients and went above and beyond during the pandemic.
The Physician of the Year award, OakBend’s highest recognition, is presented annually to one outstanding physician who possesses significant practice experience, compassion, kindness, and sincerity that other staff members that work closely with them. These physicians always look and act professional and are a role model both professionally and personally.
A surprised Dr. Ceballos stated, “This award is deserved by all of the physicians who worked with me against this pandemic who were seeing patients every morning and working almost 24 hours a day. Believe me, this award is deserved by all of you, and I think we did a good job, thank you. It was hard not only for us but for our families and I’m very excited. I hope that the pandemic will slow down, and we can go back to ‘normal’. I think we made it! Thank you, Joe, and thank you everyone for this honor.”
Dr. Ceballos is board certified in internal medicine and his style of practice is to be attentive to his patient’s needs while providing education and care. He is a Fort Bend County resident who speaks fluent Spanish as well as English.
According to Joe Freudenberger, CEO of OakBend Medical Center, “Dr. Ceballos has been a great asset to OakBend Medical Center and OakBend Medical Group. He was extremely deserving of this award.”
