The Art Colony Association, Inc. (ACA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to producing the Bayou City Art Festival, has announced the addition of Mike Pede to its Board of Directors and Jeremy Smith as Artist Relations Manager.
“We are excited to welcome Mike Pede as a member of the Art Colony Association Board of Directors along with Jeremy Smith as the Artist Relations Manager for Bayou City Art Festival,” said Kelly Batterson, Executive Director of ACA. “Two new additions to our team bring an abundance of experience and knowledge as we continue to save our arts and gear up for the fall festival to celebrate the arts and awareness for art education and programs that enrich our community at Bayou City Art Festival Downtown.”
Mike Pede
Pede serves as the Associate Vice President of Alumni Relations for the University of Houston Alumni Association. He oversees a team dedicated to unifying alumni relations and expands programs and services to reach alumni. Pede is a 1989 graduate of UH’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management and has served or currently serves on advisory boards for Bank of America and Liberty Mutual alumni affinity programs, and Council of Alumni Associations Executives. Pede is a member of the global CASE Commission on Alumni Relations and serves on committees at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Greater Houston Basketball Committee and the Texas Bowl.
Jeremy Smith
Smith moved to Houston in 2005 from Fairbanks, Alaska and quickly began a successful career in business development within the behavioral healthcare industry where he specialized in building strategic partnerships with some of Houston’s most prominent and renowned phycologists and physicians. He has a professional reputation for thriving in fast-paced environments that demand creative solutions. Smith’s strong leadership and communications skills will be a great asset to his role with Bayou City Art Festival.
On October 9-10, 2021 Bayou City Art Festival will return to an in-person festival with the city’s Downtown iconic buildings as a backdrop for guests to meet artists, view original works, and purchase one-of-a-kind art, prints, jewelry, sculptures, functional art and more. Bayou City Art Festival Downtown will spotlight the work of McKenzie Fisk and feature a music stage, strolling live entertainment, food trucks, beverage stations and more. In the Active Imagination Zone, the festival’s nonprofit partners will host art activities for all ages and include an interactive area for all attendees to enjoy.
