COVID 19 Vaccinations at Four Corners Sugar Land

Thursday, March 11th, an effort led by Fort Bend County Commissioner Ken R. DeMerchant to vaccinate the vulnerable and those in categories 1A and 1B took place at the Four Corners Recreation Center in Sugar Land. DeMerchant, together with Fort Bend County Health and Human Services Dr. Jacquelyn Minter, collaborated with Dr. Venus Ruben of PES Clinical Solutions to administer vaccinations in the Four Corners Neighborhood.

While many venues for vaccinations are becoming available, DeMerchant saw the need for those who are most vulnerable in the community requiring assistance. Through his “Precinct 4 Giving” program, DeMerchant was able to coordinate this outreach. With the help of volunteers from the community, approximately 100 residents in the 1A and 1B categories received the COVID-19 vaccine at Four Corners.

“Fort Bend County Precinct 4 stands out as a precinct that is ready and able to give back to its community. My “Precinct 4 Giving” program incorporates this very nature of our community to harness a “collective power” in serving the greater good. I want to continue engaging our community partners to not only seek out opportunities to make things better but also to collaborate with the vast talent, expertise, and action of many who are ready to give back and help build a more resilient community” stated Commissioner DeMerchant.

Fort Bend County is committed to ensuring all residents are able to receive a vaccine in due time and make it more accessible to our most vulnerable.
