Power and water restored; Galveston restaurants now operating at 75% capacity
Galveston Restaurant Week 2021 takes place during the entire month of February. More than 40 island restaurants offer special menus for breakfast lunch and dinner giving diners plenty of options for the last days of the special event. The timing is perfect — new COVID-19 guidelines have recently been enacted allowing restaurants to operate at 75% capacity.
“Now that the weather is warming and power and water have been restored to the island, we’re looking forward to a strong finish to Galveston Restaurant Week,” Galveston Chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association, President James Clark said. “There’s still time for diners to take advantage of great food at great prices and to help the local restaurant community that’s been hard hit by the pandemic. This week, Galveston’s restaurants were given the green light to go from 50% capacity to 75% capacity, so we think this bodes well for restaurants and restaurant goers.”
Now in its 10th year, Galveston Restaurant Week is an opportunity for diners to try top dishes on prix-fixe breakfast, lunch and dinner menus in attractive price points. Two- and three-course dinners are priced between $20 and $35 while two-course lunches, breakfasts and brunches cost between $10 and $20.
A portion of proceeds from Galveston Restaurant Week will go to the Galveston County Food Bank. Event sponsors are the Galveston Chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association, Del Papa Distributing Company, Galveston Island Convention & Visitors Bureau, Galveston Daily News, Sysco Houston, & Ben E. Keith.
