Update on Tuesday, Feb. 16: Clinic Closures and Hours Due to Inclement Weather and Power/Utility Infrastructure Instability Across Region

Virtual Visit Options Available from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

HOUSTON (Feb. 16, 2021) – As always, the safety of our patients and employees remains our top priority. This has been a challenging week for all our patients and employees, as we have faced a significant weather event, but also widespread utility outages.

In the best interest of our patients and staff, we have made the decision to close all in-person appointments, procedures, and services on Wednesday, Feb. 17, due to the continued concerns of infrastructure reliability, instability of utilities, and ongoing rolling blackouts.

All Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Locations, Pharmacies, Laboratories, Diagnostic Services, and COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Sites:

·       Wednesday, Feb. 17: CLOSED ALL DAY

All in person appointments and procedures, including diagnostic imaging, will be automatically cancelled for Wednesday, Feb. 17. Patients with appointments scheduled during these clinic closures do not need to call the Clinic for cancellation.

Main Campus Ambulatory Surgery Center and Spring Medical and Diagnostic Surgery Center; Cancer Centers (Main Campus and Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center); Sleep Center; Infusion Center Services:

  • Wednesday, Feb. 17 – CLOSED ALL DAY

Virtual Visits for Primary and Specialty Care

On Demand “Video Visits NOW” (on demand video visits with any Kelsey-Seybold provider) is available to patients from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Video Visits can treat a wide variety of conditions including sick and acute care treatments. We encourage patients who have more immediate care needs (non-emergency) to utilize our Video Visits NOW service.

Scheduled Video Visits: As power outage issues continue to impact our region, access to specific primary care and specialty physicians for Virtual Visits may vary based on the doctor’s availability. Patients who would like to schedule with a specific provider can log into their MyKelseyOnline account and select the Video Visit appointment option to see if their provider is open and available for virtual care. As rolling power outages occur, we are unable to confirm what providers or access may be available at any given time. Hours to schedule a Video Visit with a specific doctor or provider on Wed., Feb. 17 are 12:00 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Pearland Administrative Office Building (Employees Only)

  • Wednesday, Feb. 17 – Essential Personnel Only

Note: Our 24/7 Contact Center and After-Hours Nurse Hotline remain open and available to patients, please call 713-442-0000 for questions or assistance.  Due to high call volumes, on-hold time may be longer than normal. We encourage patients to use their MyKelseyOnline account or MyKelsey app to make appointment changes if needed.

We will continue to monitor the weather forecast as well as the issues of continued infrastructure instabilities throughout the week to determine if future changes in hours of operation will be required the rest of the week. We encourage patients and employees to stay safe and continue to monitor conditions for the area.
