Love Is In the Air at Citizens for Animal Protection

CAP is celebrating love throughout February by encouraging you to fall in love at one of our adoption events, by making sure your most loved pets are happy, healthy and up-to-date on their vaccinations, and by spring cleaning to help feral cats.

Bowl Weekend Adoption Events

Some people may be watching the Super Bowl festivities this weekend, but we’ll have our eyes on different fields – the Puppy Bowl and Kitten Bowl game fields! Interested adopters must submit an adoption application and schedule an appointment to visit. There are still bowl weekend appointments available!

On Saturday, February 6th, CAP is teaming up with North Shore Animal League America (NSALA) and the Hallmark Channel for our Kitten Bowl fee-free felines adoption event. All cat and kitten adoptions will be sponsored by NSALA.

Sunday, February 7th is the big game day, and CAP’s Puppy Bowl fee-waived adoption event takes the field. Adopt a pet at no fee courtesy of West Houston Subaru, in partnership with Animal Planet.

Keep your eyes on the TV for our foster kitten Iris making her screen debut in an Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal Litter commercial. She remembered all of her lines and hopes this will boost her kitten career!

Cornelius Clinic

Love your pets! Throughout the entire month of February, bring two pets to the Cornelius Clinic for vaccinations at the same time, and get $10 off the second pet’s vaccines

The Cornelius Clinic provides affordable, vaccination, and other basic pet wellness services appointments only with curbside service. To schedule an appointment call 281-600-8500.

Feral Cat Assistance Program (FCAP) Donation Drive

February 15th – 28th – Love is in the air for many frisky feral cats also! Help prevent unwanted litters of feral kittens by Spring cleaning your closets now. The feral cat population booms every spring and we are doing everything we can to stop the cycle.

FCAP currently sponsors 80 feral cat spay/neuter surgeries every month, but our goal is to increase the number to 120. With each surgery averaging $55, we have a sizeable gap to cover! Do good with your goods and donate clothing and textiles (blankets, drapes, etc) to raise money to sponsor spay/neuter surgeries through our Feral Cat Assistance Program (FCAP).

During the last two weeks of February, CAP will have a special donation bin at our shelter to collect clothing and textiles. These donations will then be “sold” to recycling and thrift stores with profits benefitting FCAP. Not only will this raise much needed money for surgeries, but it will also keep thousands of pounds of textiles out of landfills.
