Classical School Encourages Parents To Make 2021-2022 Enrollment a Priority

Aristoi Classical Academy, known for its rigorous, classical liberal arts curriculum, is urging parents and students to be proactive concerning the upcoming school year’s enrollment. Although everyone in our community is dealing with challenges that have arisen due to the seismic shift of COVID-19, it’s important for families to keep the 2021-2022 school year’s enrollment a top priority.

Aristoi Classical Academy, a tuition-free, public charter school with three campuses serving Katy and Cypress, will begin accepting applications for the upcoming school year starting Monday, February 1, 2021, through Sunday, February 28, 2021. The lottery process will begin the first week of March. The school is encouraging families to begin the process early to allow the schools extra time to plan during these uncertain times. All applicants will receive written notification within 15 business days of the application deadline either offering admission or directing the applicants to SchoolMint Portal to view their place on the waiting list. If an application is received after the lottery has passed, the applicant’s name will be added to the bottom of the waiting list in the order received.

Stephanie and Matt Regitz, whose children joined the Aristoi community in 2020, encourage families to take a serious look at the school. “The language and literature part is what got me,” Stephanie says.  “Reading good, classic books, reflecting on them, and really digging into their meaning was an important factor.  We considered homeschooling, but realized that the kids really needed to be in a school.”

The Aristoi Katy Campuses, established in 1996, serve kindergarten through 12th grade students. The Cypress Campus opened in 2020 with kindergarten through 4th grade options and is expanding in the 2021-2022 school year to include 5th and 6th grades. Additional grades will be added each year culminating in a K-12 campus in Cypress. Both campuses aim for students to seek the truth in all things and to understand that learning is a life-long pursuit.

“We’re excited to welcome even more students to the Aristoi community,” said Brenda Davidson, Aristoi Superintendent. “We are committed to providing students with an academically challenging Classical Liberal Arts education that encourages them to develop a passion for learning and that gives them the means to become responsible citizens of virtuous character.”

The Regitz family says don’t wait. Stephanie explains, “I did all this research about Aristoi, about classical education.  Then, one [Aristoi] teacher told me that she looked at six different schools and chose Aristoi above them all.”  That solidified Stephanie and Matt’s decision.

Virtual tours are available and parents may begin the enrollment process at www.aristoiclassical.org or by calling 281-391-5003.
