Library’S Online Podcast Club Focuses On Astrology In February

The Podcast Club at Fort Bend County Libraries’ University Branch Library will focus on “Astrology” in February. The Podcast Club meeting will take place online via Webex, so listeners throughout the area can participate from the comfort and safety of home.

Similar to a book club, the Podcast Club provides an opportunity for podcast listeners to get together to discuss podcast selections from a themed podcast-listening list and share their opinions on trending topics. Each month features a different theme, along with a short list of podcast episodes.

The next meeting of the University Branch Library Podcast Club will take place on Monday, February 15, beginning at 7:00 pm. A link to the Webex meeting will be emailed to all who register.

A direct link to the podcasts can be found on Fort Bend County Libraries’ online calendar on the FBCL website. The playlist of podcasts from which to choose includes:

Astrology: Are Geminis the Worst?” – Science Vs (26 minutes). For centuries, people have been looking to the stars to tell us all kinds of things — what our future holds, who we should date. So what does science say about astrology? We speak to astronomer Prof. Caty Pilachowski, Prof. Dave Henningsen and astrology lover Natalie Norman.

Medical Astronomy” – Sawbones (42 minutes). Does the position of the sun and the stars at the time of your birth determine your medical history? No! But some people thought it did.

As always, you can take astrology with a grain of salt, but the impact on human behavior and culture is undeniable.

Astrology for Happiness and Success” – By the Book (44 minutes). The ladies live by the book Astrology for Happiness and Success, written by Mecca Woods. Will Kristen learn to love astrology? Will Jolenta create the life she wants by using the stars as her guide?
