Exchange Club of Fort Bend Adapts Fundraiser: Shield Bearers Protect Community

Many know the Exchange Club of Fort Bend known not only for their community service but for their history of annual fundraisers such as the Great Duck Race and the Duck Golf Classic. This year the Club has adapted their fundraiser due to the COVID Pandemic and concern for the health of the community. This year’s fundraiser is the Virtual Field of Shields – Protecting the Spirit of Community Service, Youth, and Americanism to Help Prevent Child Abuse. Total funds raised to date is over $13,000.

In light of current events, the Club is focusing on much needed support of local food drives in addition to its core service initiatives of Americanism, Youth, and Community Service. The Club has already donated food to the family of a veteran and will participate in Share Your Holidays on December 4, 2020. There are also plans to help several other food pantries restock their supplies after the holidays.

The Exchange Club of Fort Bend is inviting community members to be a Shield Bearer. Each Shield can and will make a difference in the lives of the underserved in our community. Each Shield will go into a  Virtual Field of Shields.  The Club is asking supporters to sponsor a virtual shield. The shield symbolizes the protection of those in need in our community.

Shields can be sponsored by individuals or companies. Sponsorships range from $2500 – $25. There are several benefits and eligibility is based on the level of sponsors.
