Texas Comptroller’s Office Honored as a Top Workplace in the Greater Austin Metro Area

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar

The Texas Comptroller’s office ranked as a Top 10 large-sized employer in the Austin American Statesman’s 2020 Top Workplaces of Greater Austin survey.

More than 125 employers, employing more than 49,000 in the Austin area, were surveyed. About 29,000 employees completed the survey questionnaires, which were prepared by Energage, a Pennsylvania-based company with expertise in employee engagement.

The survey asked workers to rate their employers on issues such as leadership and direction, ethics and values and treatment of employees.

The Comptroller’s office, with nearly 3,000 employees, ranked eighth in the large employer category.

“I’m extremely proud of the positive work environment that we have created at the Comptroller’s office,” Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said. “We value the opinions of our employees, support training and communication, encourage a healthy work-life balance and — especially during this pandemic – support workplace flexibility. That translates to a more effective and efficient agency and better service for our customers — the Texas taxpayers.”

The Comptroller’s office has prepared a tribute video for this honor.
