Local Cheerleader/Dancer To Perform On Thanksgiving Day At The Universal Orlando Resort

Natalie Gendron

Natalie Gendron from Memorial Parkway Jr. High in Katy, Texas will represent her school and Varsity Spirit in the 2020 Thanksgiving Tour at the Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida. This is the second year that she has been selected as an All- American. She performed in the 2019 Thanksgiving Tour at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Cheerleaders and dancers from across the country are invited to perform are part of a select group chosen as All-Americans during Varsity Spirit summer camps across the country. All-Americans are selected via tryout based on either superior cheerleading or dance skills at camps operated by Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA).  Only the top 12% of the cheerleaders and dancers from Varsity Spirit camps earn the chance to participate in a performance of this caliber.

Natalie will perform with over 400 Varsity Spirit All-Americans in a one-of-a-kind performance at the Universal Orlando Resort on Thanksgiving Day. Besides enjoying a sunny trip to Orlando, All-Americans will have the opportunity to meet cheerleaders and dancers from across the nation and enjoy a magical holiday season at the Universal Orlando Resort parks.

Natalie was able to submit a virtual try out this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “This year, when our summer camp was cancelled, I thought I had lost my chance to try out for All-American.  Varsity decided to offer teams the opportunity for virtual All-American tryouts. We had to learn a dance routine, perform it on video and submit it.  I was really excited when they let me know that I was selected again this year.”

The Varsity All-American program is celebrating more than 30 years of choosing camp standouts. For more information, visit orlando.varsity.com or contact Melanie Berry at (800) 238-0286 ext. 4362 or mberry@varsity.com.
