Casa Cultural de las Americas will bring literature from the Americas to the City of Houston

Casa Cultural de las Américas (CCA) is proud to present the Anthology Presentation “Poetas en Casa 2020” as part of the International Literature Festival – Houston(ILF-H), which will take place on November 12.

COUNTRIES OF PARTICIPATING AUTHORS: Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela.

SPECIAL PARTICIPATION: Students from Houston and Dallas, Public High schools, will be reading poems from the Anthology.

ALSO AND VERY IMPORTANT:  The Caniem Prize for Editorial Art awarded by the Chamber of Mexican Editorial Industry represents a distinction of the editorial design, quality of the printing materials and the editorial commitment of the mexican publishers, associations or independents, that make up the chamber, in the different categories: poetry, short story, novel, essay, translation, magazine, etc.

This year 2020 the award for the best poetry book goes to Poetas en Casa 2020, an anthology of poems by Mantis Editores and CCA, produced by Elizabeth Quila and Luis Armenta Malpica, sponsored by the chain H.E.B. In addition to the diffusion of the awards in the press and television, the Caniem includes a showcase in some stations of the Metropolitan Transportation System (Metro) of Mexico City, to support the visibility of the winning books, which generally results in greater interest in the commercialization in books stores and a well-earned prestige among the members of the largest national publishers guild, since the jury is made up of distinguished members of Caniem itself.
