Cynthia Hutson passed away at the age of 72 on October 4, 2020 after suffering another (her third) hemorrhagic stroke. Cynthia had been a resident of Heritage Park of Katy Nursing and Rehabilitation of Katy since suffering her second stroke in 2015. Cynthia’s family is grateful to the many good people at that facility who helped she and the other residents cope with the isolation and loneliness the residents experienced as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. When family and friends could not visit, many staff members were there to provide what comfort they could.
Cynthia’s faith in God kept her always optimistic and hopeful. She fought to regain her strength and abilities through rehabilitation, as well as through prayer. Cynthia loved her family deeply, and lived to hear of their accomplishments. Her walls were covered with pictures of her twin grandchildren, Alyssa and Brady, whom she absolutely adored.
Cynthia was very artistic and always had more than one quilting project going at a time. Pre-stroke, every stitch of every quilt she made was hand-sewn. The quilts she made were original in design and never for sale; she made them with love for those she loved, and the many quilts she made are her legacy.
Cynthia is survived by William Hutson (son) and his wife, Audrey, of Normal, Illinois, Alyssa Hutson (granddaughter) and Brady Hutson (grandson), and Nanette Shearer (sister) of Spruce Grove, Alberta.
