More than 220 Texas 4-H and FFA students to compete with fellow 2020 Calf Scramble winners

Saturday, Oct. 10 – Sunday, Oct. 11

Washington County Fairgrounds, 1305 E. Blue Bell Rd., Brenham, Texas 77833

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Calf Scramble committees will host the 13th annual Calf Scramble Progress Show, where more than 220 Texas 4-H and FFA students will compete with fellow 2020 Calf Scramble winners, before returning to the show ring as an exhibitor at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in March 2021.

Participants include Texas 4-H and FFA members who received a $1,750 certificate in 2020 to apply toward the purchase of a registered beef heifer or market steer to show at the 2021 Houston Livestock Show™.

The Calf Scramble Progress Show includes a scramble heifer show and scramble steer show, followed by a showmanship competition. Participants will be joined by Calf Scramble Committee volunteers, agricultural science teachers and county extension agents. These dedicated individuals are essential to continuing the Calf Scramble program and giving Texas students the chance to gain hands-on experience in agriculture and responsibility.

Due to COVID restrictions, the event is not open to the public, however, media will be permitted.
