Jared J Davis From Ohio Shares- Five Reasons Why Businesses Should Automate

Thanks to the rapid pace of technological innovations, automation continues its forward moving path of bigger, better, cheaper.

We spoke with John Doe about the importance of automation and why this archaic sounding term is still an important one for businesses of all size to consider.

Benefits:

#1 Improved Productivity

Simply speaking, automation reduces the amount of time and effort required to perform a job.

While AI moves the productivity needle forward at an alarming rate, it is still important to remember that AI does not have the capacity to “reason”.   From this vantage point,  one  can  argue strongly that it is still not as  “smart” as the human brain. Hence, computers still cannot be used for EVERY task, and thankfully (sic) physical and cognitive human intervention is still required to “get the job done”.

Says John Doe… “companies that regularly adopt new technologies improve employee productivity.  Conversely, “poorly placed automation investments not only fail to get adequate results, but they in fact hurt employee productivity as well as satisfaction”.

#2 Higher Accuracy

Algorithms theoretically eliminate the risk of human error.  Of-course this is not true says John Doe.  What is true however is that automation is only as good  as the person(s) behind its design, innovation and implementation. Problems that exist at any point during the cycle create an ever increasing amount of errors and untold future investments correcting the problem.  Therefore, the higher accuracy sought by companies that automate is always attainable, but it is still the human element that still controls the final results.

#3 Better Collaboration

Every business should consist of teams that operate both independently,  and collaboratively.  This is the means  by which companies can build appropriate tasks and deliver desirous results. Businesses should always assign different roles to different employees.  This is the  means by which ensure proper communication and coordination can be ensured.   It is fairly obvious that poor communications are one of the major reasons that projects get delayed, or even fail.

According to reports, poor communication is one of the major reasons why projects fail or get delayed. Automation tools can be of great help here. These tools streamline the means to communicate, and to ensure that everyone does their part to stay on the same page. Of course, it cannot be left out that automation also creates enhanced  client communications.

#4 Greater Morale

“Businesses must always invest in technologies that improve employee morale. After all, employees are the backbone of a business,” says John Doe with an ironic smile.

This is not as easy as it seems however says Doe.  Workers at behemoths like Amazon are not challenged by the repetitive, monotonous tasks that they face on a daily basis.  These facts might be mitigated through higher pay and benefits. The reality however is the opposite,  and according to Doe, not sustainable.

Back to the optimistic side … automation leads to innovation and improves creativity. This is so important as we all know the strong connection between business results and creativity.  Therefore, it does not take much of a “leap forward” to state that companies that encourage creativity tend to outperform competitors, driving higher revenue growth, market share, and innovation.

But once again, a bit of an ironic insight from Jared Jeffery Davis… “automation doesn’t have a direct impact on creativity, but it does free up some time so we can daydream and take on more creative endeavors”.
