Denver Criminal Defense Attorney Applauds FDA Warning On CBD Oil Risks

Marijuana is everywhere. It’s in popular culture, it’s in modern speech. If you live in a state where marijuana is legal, it’s in the air. So when a cannabis product reaches the market, nobody bats an eye. The problem is that very few of these products, especially CBD, are produced with even an inkling of standards. The ugly truth is that CBD is a glorified vitamin. And in the counterintuitive spirit most intellectuals take, the top criminal defense attorney in Denver has been at the spearhead of announcing this reality. Not very many people are willing to admit this, but CBD hasn’t had any solidly proven benefits. It’s a substance that’s so innocuous that it, to the dismay of the scientific community, doesn’t do much of anything. But what is it about CBD that has people contributing to this now multi-billion dollar industry? Here are a few insights.

CBD Is Not FDA Approved

According to attorney Trent Trani the top criminal defense attorney in Denver, the FDA has not approved CBD. There’s not approved therapeutic claims. Why? There simply isn’t enough evidence. There isn’t a lot of room for high-minded anecdotes when it comes to the FDA or the law. As explained by tranicriminaldefense.com, there has to be solid, irrefutable proof of its efficacy with minimal proven adverse effects. Yes, the system isn’t perfect. Yes, there’s been an unfair witch-hunt when it came to cannabis with “Reefer Madness”. When it comes to the facts, we’re just not at the point where the scientific community can accept all of the statements attributed to the substance. It’s not a slight against CBD itself. It’s a reality check from a regulating body that really does try to keep things solid and under control.

Fraudulent CBD Products

Aside from the compound itself, Mr. Trani has often talked about third party testing. When the FDA approves something, there is a strict amount of testing and regulatory proofs that a food substance has to go through. CBD companies do not do this. It’s up to CBD companies to come out with their own testing protocols to prove to the public that their product is what they say it has then there’s another issue. The facilities they use for this “third party testing” may in itself be questionable. There is a chain of accountability and quality a product must go down, and CBD companies hiring their own labs to do their own so-called independent testing doesn’t fall under that category.

Possible Contamination

The outcome of this lax testing and questionable standards is that things get in that really shouldn’t. People really don’t have much of an idea of how supplements are made. They’re mixed and stirred in giant batches with industrial-sized containers that often get reused. Since supplement companies really don’t have any high quality standards, it’s quite common for these mixing containers to not be properly washed. So one can be mixing together an animal tranquilizer that isn’t for human consumption, pour it into its syllable serving size, and then immediately after your batch of CBD is being mixed.

CBD isn’t bad. But it’s difficult to label it as a miracle cure. In a situation where we’re dealing with supplements we give to children and the elderly, it’s important to put it through the gauntlet. It needs to be tested and approved. Families should not settle for anything less.
