Lonestar Safety Fest is a volunteer-run public safety festival built around a simple mission: Prevent. Prepare. Connect. The event brings families, first responders and community organizations together so residents can learn practical safety information before an emergency occurs.
Originally launched in 2016 as Katy Area Safety Fest, the organization adopted the Lonestar Safety Fest name in 2025 as the event and its regional partnerships grew. Participating agencies span fire service, law enforcement, emergency medical services, military and disaster response.
Visitors can experience emergency vehicles, live demonstrations, interactive educational exhibits, first-responder meet-and-greets and family-friendly activities. The hands-on format gives children and adults an opportunity to meet the people behind the uniforms, ask preparedness questions and become more familiar with community safety resources.
Prevent. Prepare. Connect.
Lonestar Safety Fest is supported by partner agencies, volunteers and community businesses. Its broader purpose is to strengthen the connection between residents and public-safety professionals while making emergency preparedness approachable and accessible.
