College pride is hitting the auction block. My Plates today announced its 2026 College Plate Auction, giving Texans the opportunity to bid on 30 unique, college-themed license plate messages.
The online-only auction runs from September 2 through September 30, 2026, with bidding closing at 8:00 p.m. on September 30.
The 30 plate messages represent colleges and universities from Texas as well as some from out-of-state, with messages including GO ASU, TIGER1, BEARZ, COUGR5, GOCATS, TECH1, PONY, HOOKEM2, AXE EM, AGGIEE, GOHOGS, MICHGN, OLMI55, TEXAN5 and more.
All auction plate messages are linked to official college-branded license plates offered by My Plates. But you don’t have to be a college fan to find something special. The auction also includes four highly sought after two-letter plate messages, NE, SH, UF and UG offering broader appeal to collectors and Texans looking for a distinctive personalized plate.
“This is a fun opportunity for college fans to get their hands on a plate message to drive their school pride,” said Steve Farrar, CEO of My Plates. “Whether it represents your alma mater or you’re simply a fan of this school, this is another great way Texans can make their vehicle their own.”
Each of the 30 lots has a minimum opening bid of $600, with the winning bidder receiving the rights to the plate message for a five-year term and maintaining first right of renewal. Only auction plates are fully transferable between persons, meaning a Lot winner can gift the plate message to a friend or family member or sell it later to someone for a profit. Winners can select from eligible My Plates Select background designs for their winning message.
The auction is open to the public, with no fee to register or bid. Participants must register through the online auction platform and accept the auction Terms and Conditions before bidding.
Bidding is already open and will close at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
