Brazos Valley Agricultural Leaders Endorse Colonel Scott MacLeod for Congress

Travis County, TX – Colonel Scott MacLeod’s campaign for Congress today announced the endorsement of two highly respected Brazos Valley agricultural leaders: Dr. James “Jim” Butler of Texas A&M and John Malazzo of Malazzo Farms.

Dr. Butler is a rancher in the Brazos Valley, a Texas A&M alumnus, and a member of Texas A&M’s College of Agriculture Development Council. He has decades of experience in agricultural policy, livestock health, and food security. His career spans education, extension, and national and international agricultural leadership, giving him a deep understanding of the challenges facing Texas farmers and ranchers in an increasingly complex global environment.

John Malazzo is a Brazos Valley farmer and rancher and a recognized leader in agricultural cooperatives and rural finance. A Texas A&M graduate, Malazzo operates Malazzo Farms and has served in leadership roles with numerous agricultural and conservation organizations across the Brazos Valley. His work has focused on ensuring producers have access to the inputs, credit, and water they need to keep Texas agriculture strong.

“Colonel MacLeod understands that food security is national security,” said Dr. Butler. “He brings a serious, disciplined approach to leadership and a clear commitment to defending Texas agriculture, strengthening our economy, and ensuring rural Texas communities have a strong voice in Washington.”

“Scott MacLeod knows what’s at stake for farmers and ranchers,” said Malazzo. “He understands the needs of rural Texas and the people who work our land. I trust him to fight for us in Congress.”

Colonel MacLeod welcomed the endorsements, emphasizing their importance to the campaign.

“Dr. Butler and John Malazzo represent the very best of Texas agriculture,” MacLeod said. “Their experience, integrity, and leadership reflect the values of the Brazos Valley. I am honored to have their support as we work to strengthen our economy, defend Texas farmers and ranchers, and keep our nation secure.”

The endorsements showcase the growing support for Colonel MacLeod among agricultural, rural, and business leaders throughout the district.
