Rosenberg, TX – Cast Theatrical will be holding auditions for Angel Street, written by Patrick Hamilton, on March 31 and April 1 from 7-9 p.m. at Cast Theatrical Company, located at 1909 Avenue G in Downtown Rosenberg.
In this captivating mystery thriller, the Manningham residence appears to be the essence of Victorian tranquility, but it is soon apparent that the suave and handsome Mr. Manningham is slowly driving his gentle and devoted wife Bella to the brink of insanity with an insinuating kindness that masks more sinister motives. While he is out, Bella has an unexpected caller: amiable, paternal Inspector Rough from Scotland Yard who tells her troubling news about her husband.
Angel Street features some of the most brilliant and suspenseful sequences in modern theatre.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, with all 5 speaking roles available. Also available are 2 non-speaking roles and other roles to be pre-recorded for use in video form throughout the performance. Performers 18 years and older, regardless of performing experience, are encouraged to audition.
“Angel Street demands performers who can navigate the shadowy psychological terrain of Patrick Hamilton’s classic Victorian thriller in our intimate thrust stage setting,” said Director Danielle Mari. “We’re searching for brave artists ready to step into the gaslight and transform our theatre into a suffocating Victorian home that will captivate audiences.”

Performances for Angel Street will run May 30 – June 15; Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm. and on Thursday, June 5 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets sell out quickly at Cast’s intimate 78-seat theatre, so advanced ticket purchases are highly recommended. Cast Theatrical Company is the longest running community theatre in Fort Bend County, founded by a small troupe of amateur actors in 1989, whose vision was to provide easy access to theatrical productions for the enjoyment of the local community and visitors to Rosenberg.
