GALVESTON, Texas (March 10, 2025) – More than 1,200 high school girls and women of all ages who are interested in pursuing a career in STEM fields will hear inspirational messages from trailblazing women at the 2025 Women In Industry Conference on Tuesday, April 1. Role models from ExxonMobil, Phillips 66 and Worley will deliver keynote presentations and will share some of the triumphs and challenges they experienced along their career journey.
The Women in Industry Conference will be held at the Moody Gardens Convention Center located at One Hope Boulevard in Galveston, Texas. Emcees for the conference are Mae Francis, published author and founder of Lookin’ Up Consulting, and Gina Spagnola, president and chief executive officer of Galveston County Chamber of Commerce. Confirmed keynote speakers include Janis Lucas, ExxonMobil’s first female full-time site superintendent for the Baytown facility, and Amanda Knost, president of Worley’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) business unit.
Galveston College will host the 2025 Women In Industry Conference along with eight other
community colleges which comprise the Texas Gulf Coast Community College Consortium . Now in its eighth year, the Women In Industry Conference will attract middle school girls, high school girls, and women who want to learn about careers in the petrochemical, construction, avionics, biotech, and IT industries. In addition to Galveston College, the consortium includes Alvin Community College, Brazosport College, College of the Mainland, Houston Community College, Lee College, Lone Star College, San Jacinto College and Wharton County Junior College. Representatives from all nine colleges will be available at the conference to discuss education and training programs, financial aid, student services and career services.
