Connecting the Community to the Classroom
Continuing a 29-year tradition, business and community partners across Katy came together in February to bring the love of reading into elementary campuses across the district. The annual reading program, led by Katy ISD Partners in Education, opens the door for our business community members to ignite imaginations and model for young minds both service and leadership by simply reading a story.
This year’s Promise to Read event was hosted with Partners in Education at Cimarron, Franz. Katy, McElwain, McRoberts, Shafer, and West Memorial Elementary Schools.
Special thanks to the following business and community partners for sharing their love of reading with Katy ISD students for 2024 Promise to Read: Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union, Chick-Fil-A Mason Road, Chick-fil-A Cinco Ranch, Chick-fil-A Katy Green, H.E.B. – Cross Creek Ranch, Houston Methodist, Katy ISD Education Foundation Executive Committee, Memorial Hermann Hospitals, PowerHouse Church, State Farm – Matt Schomburg, Texas Children’s Hospital
Partners in Education opens the door to lasting school and community relationships that positively impact students and the staff who lead them. To learn more, visit Partners in Education under the “Community” tab at www.katyisd.org or contact Lauren Slovisky at laurenvslovisky@katyisd.org.
