New Giveback Model Rewarding Volunteerism With Exclusive Concert Access Comes To Houston

Houstonians can sign up for ‘1DayHouston’ to serve alongside notable Houston names like Mattress Mack, Kiotti Brown and Jae’Sean Tate Saturday, April 29 in exchange for access to an exclusive concert at the Toyota Center

Love Has No Limits (LHNL), a nonprofit working to address some of the nation’s most pressing challenges by harnessing the power of collaboration, is bringing their movement of service to Houston on April 29th and 30th for 1DayHouston. During 1DayHouston, thousands of Houstonians will be invited to serve their city the morning of April 29th and in exchange will receive exclusive access to a live concert event at the Toyota Center the evening of April 29th or 30th.

The power of this ground-breaking philanthropic model, which mobilizes unprecedented numbers of volunteers to unite on the same day for the sake of the city before celebrating in a concert event, was first demonstrated in Los Angeles in 2021 during 1DayLA. 1DayLA saw the city of Los Angeles come together like never before as 20,000 people served and then celebrated together a concert event featuring artists like Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper, Tori Kelly, and more. Over 100,000 families received care and new partnerships were formed between nonprofits, businesses, community champions, and people across the city.

Now as the movement expands to Houston, 1DayHouston plans to unite up to 1,000 partnering organizations, faith communities, and influencers such as local philanthropist Mattress Mack, Houston Rockets DJ Kiotti Brown, and Houston Rockets player Jae’Sean Tate, with up to 50,000 local volunteers to meet needs for vulnerable people and families in the city.

“From natural disasters to pandemics, Houston has always had a history of facing community challenges head-on and coming together in times of crisis,” said Jim ‘Mattress Mack’ McIngvale, Owner, Gallery Furniture. “I am excited to be a partner of 1DayHouston and build a network of volunteers and local organizations that will bring impactful change to the city. Houston has united for a crisis, now it’s time to unite for a cause.”

Service projects include participating in community festivals, sports camps, school clean up, urban gardens, medical and vision clinics, and distributing vital aid to local community members. 1DayHouston has brought together existing community champions such as The Riverside Project, Boys and Girls Club and Houston Welcomes Refugees and created opportunities for people from across the city to make an impact for the unique communities they serve.

Houstonians can join the team of thousands serving and gain exclusive access to the concert event by registering at 1DayHouston.com for the Early Bird registration price of $15 which includes the official team t-shirt. A minimum of three hours of service are required for access to the 1DayHouston concert event, and space is limited to the first 32,000 registered volunteers.
