Katy, Texas, is home to painting state champion and national winner teen artist, Hajra Rahim
We are thrilled to announce that 16-year-old junior in high school, Hajra Rahim, has not only won several prestigious art competitions, but she has also made the small town of Katy, Texas proud. Recently, Hajra won 7th place at the national level for the Beta State painting competition, an impressive feat for any artist, let alone one so young.
Hajra’s talent and dedication to her craft have been evident from a young age. She initially started in orchestra, but due to a schedule error and her passion for art, she decided to switch to art. Since then, she has continued to hone her skills and even began teaching oil painting at her local art studio.
Hajra’s impressive achievements include winning first place at the Beta State painting competition twice, qualifying for the State VASE this weekend, and earning a Gold Key and four Silver Keys in the Scholastic Art Awards. Her artwork stood out among thousands of talented young artists from across the country, and her hard work and dedication have paid off in a big way. Her artwork, infused with emotion and meaning, is a testament to her unique perspective and exceptional talent.
Hajra’s artwork caught the attention of the judges at the Hayloft Gallery for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and her piece “8 Second Dreams” is being included in the show, an impressive feat for any artist, let alone one so young.
Katy, Texas, a small town just west of Houston, is known for its strong community spirit and pride in its residents’ accomplishments. Hajra’s success in the national competition has added to the town’s growing list of achievements, and her talent and dedication to her craft have inspired many.
