Monthlong 2022 Event to Promote Pet Adoption & Animal Welfare for 8th Consecutive Year Aug. 1 to 31
50% Adoption fees 8/1 – 8/31
** FEE WAIVED Adoption Event on Saturday, 8/27 **
Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) is participating in NBCUniversal Local’s 2022 Clear The Shelters pet adoption and donation Aug. 1 to 31. This is the eighth consecutive year NBC and Telemundo owned stations are partnering with affiliate stations and animal shelters and rescues to promote pet adoption and help raise funds to support animal welfare. Since its inception in 2015, Clear The Shelters has helped more than 700,000 pets find new homes.
In a push to Clear the Shelters and help more pets find homes, Citizens for Animal Protection is hosting a special one day fee-waived adoption event on Saturday 8/27 from 11am – 5pm, with adoption fees generously sponsored by West Houston Subaru.
Adoption fees will be waived for all dogs, cats, puppies, kittens and small animals with adoption application approval. Adoption package includes spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccinations, FeLv/ HW testing and unconditional love. There will also be goodie bags and pet food samples provided by Hill’s Pet Nutrition available to all adopters. All adoptable pets at CAP can be viewed at www.cap4pets.org/pet-adoptions and visited in person at 17555 Katy Freeway Houston, TX 77094.
The 2022 Clear The Shelters will again feature online donations through partners Greater Good Charities and The Animal Rescue Site, which will host fundraising and cover transaction fees so that 100 percent of donations go directly to shelters and rescues. Donations can be made to participating shelters or rescues during the campaign at ClearTheSheltersFund.org, which is also accessible via ClearTheShelters.com.

About Clear The Shelters
Clear The Shelters™ / Desocupar Los Albergues® is an annual, nationwide pet adoption campaign that is spearheaded by NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal. Every year, NBCUniversal Local’s NBC and Telemundo owned stations, plus affiliated stations, partner with animal shelters and rescues in their communities to host Clear The Shelters events. NBCUniversal Local’s Clear The Shelters campaign was inspired by a 2014 North Texas pet adoption event hosted by NBC 5 / KXAS and Telemundo 39 / KXTX and dozens of area shelters that resulted in the most adopted pets in one day for North Texas. Since 2015, NBCUniversal Local’s Clear The Shelters pet adoption campaign has resulted in more than 700,000 pets finding new homes.
