“Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. transformed America and inspired men and women across the world with his call to pursue justice and truth. Now more than ever, we are reminded of the power of his words, calling on all of us to have ‘the courage to face the uncertainties of the future,’ ‘as we continue our forward stride toward the city of freedom.’ Reverend King spoke out courageously against inequality and racial injustice, and his legacy continues to inspire us to work together to secure the blessing of freedom for all Americans. May we never forget this responsibility.”
