Virtual Gala November 14, 2020
Shield Bearer will host a Celebration of Hope virtual gala celebration sharing the work that counselors do every day to provide supportive counseling services to 15,000 individuals and families in the greater Houston area each year.
The complementary event will be hosted by local comedian Amanda Hebert, and will go live on the Shield Bearer website and Facebook page from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14.
For fifteen years we have provided professional counseling services to over one hundred thousand individuals. Shield Bearer is passionate about helping people live abundant lives. We are here to help if you are experiencing depression, anxiety, difficulty with life transitions, trauma, abuse, or any other issue. You are not alone! Our name embodies our intention to reach and help all people seeking counseling services. We aim to eliminate financial and social barriers to getting help.
Mental health is the foundation for well-being and effective functioning for individuals and communities. It is so much more than the absence of mental illness. When we function in a state of well-being, we naturally realize our abilities, cope with normal stresses of life, and work productively in our community. It is our goal to move a step closer to addressing the problem of the gap between numbers of people in our community who need help with mental health issues, and the number who actually receive help—ultimately, we do not want anyone to suffer in silence.
